Being the owner of a Mexican condo for vacation rental, I had to recently obtain a tax number, and register at the Immigration Office in Rocky Point. I was happily surprised to find this banner hanging above the waiting area: “Ya No Mas Mordidas.” I understand that this was part of an anti-corruption campaign pioneered by the Mexican government and one that has been going on for some time.
At the office that issues tax numbers, there is even a red phone set up for citizens to call if they witness any acts of corruption in that office.
My hat goes off to the Mexican people and the Mexican government for making attempts to clean up their corruption.
